Shabran defeated and stopped Wilson
January 17, 2015, Saturday, United States, Las Vegas, MGM Grand
The undercard of fight between Bermeyn Stivern (01/01/24, 21 KOs) and Deontey Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) was a fight with a promising Ukrainian light heavyweight Vyacheslav Shabran (12-0, 10 KOs), which "excellent" passed his first professional career serious "examination", in brilliant style defeating not really masterful, but exceptionally strong and uncompromising American Garrett Wilson (01/09/13, 7 KOs), who in recent years has performed at one weight class above and even had one fight under heavyweight (Shabran's namesake and compatriot - Vyacheslav Glazkov).
The first alarm bell rang loudly for Garrett at the last second of the 2nd round, he found himself on the floor of the ring, got combination of hard uppercut to the right and left lateral pursuit. Shaped was beating American slugger his strong, but long-suffering head "pack" attacks for every taste, lasted from round to round, and in the 8th round he again found himself in a serious knock-down, crashing from a missed hitting his face. This time Vyacheslav "cut down" the enemy long, straight forward, to catch an error while trying to break through the jab.
In the 9th round Wilson missed a lot of unanswered punches, but still managed to stay on his feet. Finally, the match referee Jay Nadeau, following the advice of the doctor who examined the American a break, Garrett refused to release the final - the 10th - round and ring-announcer declared victory Shabran TKO.
Thus, Vyacheslav managed to stop a very stable and experienced opponent. It was a truly great performance Ukrainian prospect.
Note that this is the second defeat early in his career of 32-year-old Wilson. However, neither the Russian puncher Alexander Alexeyev, nor a top South African Cruiser Thabiso Mchunu nor Ukrainian heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov could not break the resistance of Wilson's early.
